Georgina Edmonds: Matthew Hamlen not guilty of murder

A man has been cleared of murdering a 77-year-old woman with a marble rolling pin in her Hampshire cottage.
Matthew Hamlen, 33, of Bishopstoke, was found not guilty of killing Georgina Edmonds in her home in Brambridge, Eastleigh, in January 2008.
Winchester Crown Court heard Mrs Edmonds' killer had stabbed her several times with a knife and tortured her for her bank card Pin.
She was also hit over the head with a marble rolling pin.
Her body was found in the kitchen.
After the verdict, Hampshire Constabulary said unsolved murders were "never closed".
"This investigation will be reviewed in accordance with the criteria set out under national guidelines," a force spokeswoman said.
She added the investigation had been one of the "biggest murder inquiries ever conducted by Hampshire Constabulary".
"Our thoughts are with Mrs Edmonds' family and members of the local community who still seek some form of closure and to see justice done."
