– Health officials in Nairobi have launched a city-wide inspection to find a “filthy restaurant that prepares chicken next to a toilet”
– Well, the restaurant will never be found as the photos doing rounds on social media were taken in Ray, Iran
The Nairobi county government launched a city-wide inspection for a fast food joint that apparently prepares chicken next to a toilet.
The inspection started in the central business district on Friday, August 12, and is expected to be broadened to include estate eateries.
“Our public health officers have combed Tom Mboya street. This will be a city-wide inspection as well as in the estates. Nairobi is getting more visitors from outside and we must ensure they eat hygienic food,” Samuel Ochola, county’s health services chief officer, told The Standard.
This was after a disgusting photo dozens of dead chicken next to a washroom went viral.

This id the photo that got Kenyans worried about the hygiene standards in the Nairobi restaurants.
The exercise is good as it will help catch those who do not comply with the health regulations.
Unfortunately, the city health officials will never find the said eatery.
Do you know why? The photo doing rounds on social media was taken thousands of kilometres away from Nairobi. It was taken in Tehran province in Iran.
