He told visiting Chinese Vice-Minister of Commerce Fu Ziying here Monday that China's support should be further strengthened for the success of the plan and called on China to share its vast experience, especially in the construction of infrastructure like roads, railways, hydro electric power stations with Ethiopia.
Relations and co-operation between the two countries was in a good shape, Meles said, adding that the symbiotic relationship needed to be enhanced to a higher level.
According to Foreign Ministry Asia and Oceania Directorate Director-General Arega Hailu, Meles commended the efforts China was exerting for the China-Africa strategic partnership and ongoing construction of the African Union (AU) headquarters in Addis Ababa.
Fu and Meles also discussed ongoing United Nations reform and the current situation in North Africa and the Middle East and on other matters of international concerns, he said.
Fu said his discussions with Meles was on how enhance bilateral relations, e specially in the trade and investments areas. He expressed his government's commitment to support the realization of Ethiopia's GTP.
It was noted that China's trade and investment participation in Ethiopia had been increasing. China is establishing an Industry Zone in East Oromia Zone of the country.
