Samuel Orola is thought to have fallen off a climbing frame A five-year-old boy who died in an accident in a playground at a school in south-west London was a "loving and happy boy", his family has said.
It is thought Samuel Orola fell off a climbing frame at Tolworth Infant and Nursery School during a lunch break on Thursday.His family released a tribute which said Samuel "touched everyone's life in a very positive way".
Police are treating the death as unexplained and are investigating.
In a statement, Samuel's family said: "Following Samuel's tragic death at school yesterday, we would like to thank everyone for their support and good wishes.
"We will certainly never forget the happy times we shared with him and pray his soul rests in perfect peace.
"This is obviously a trying time for the family and we appeal for privacy to grieve."
When the emergency services arrived, Samuel was described as being "unconscious but not breathing".
'Distressing accident' He was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Acting Det Insp Ray Williams said: "Our condolences go out to Samuel's family and friends and we will work closely with the school to carry out our investigations with minimum disruption to their young pupils."
The emergency services found Samuel unconscious and not breathing Derek Osbourne, leader of Kingston Council, said a full investigation would take place to establish the cause of the "distressing accident".
He said their hearts went out to the family and friends of Samuel and the whole school community.
"The council will provide the support that is required for all those who are struggling to come to terms with this news," he said.
The Health and Safety Executive has been informed and a post-mortem examination will take place on Tuesday.
