Body of missing man from Llanrumney, Cardiff, is found

John Martin had been missing for a week

The body of a missing 71-year-old man has been found in an artificial drain, say police.

John Martin had been missing since Friday, 30 September after he left his home in Llanrumney, Cardiff, with his dog, Ben.
Mr Martin's body was found on Friday in a drain, known locally as the reens, near the coast road between Wentloog and Peterstone.
Officers said there were no suspicious circumstances.
Mr Martin's dog was found the morning after he went missing.
South Wales Police thanked members of the public who had provided information during the search.
