Woman killed trying to retrieve phone from tracks


A woman was killed when she was hit by an express train at a south west London station as she was trying to retrieve her phone, it has emerged.
Police said the 23-year-old, believed to be from Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, was struck by a Waterloo to Exeter express train on Sunday evening.
Ch Insp Alison Evans from British Transport Police (BTP) said it was a "tragic accident".
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her family have been told.
Police investigators are preparing a report for the coroner, the BTP spokeswoman added.
