Former BBC man Peter Rowell in court on sex charges

Former BBC radio presenter Peter Rowell has appeared in court accused of a string of child sex offences.
Mr Rowell, 53, from Wickwar in South Gloucestershire, is charged with seven counts of indecent assault against girls under the age of 16.
The former ITV news presenter is also accused of seven counts of possessing and making indecent images of children. He denies all the charges.
North Avon magistrates bailed him until 20 June.
His next court appearance will be before Bristol magistrates.
A BBC spokeswoman said Mr Rowell was no longer engaged by the corporation as his contract had come to the end of its term.
Mr Rowell, originally from Sunderland, presented the Afternoon Show on BBC Radio Bristol and BBC Somerset.
He was also a bulletin reader on ITV West for more than 10 years and worked as a DJ for commercial radio station GWR in the 1980s.
