MOGADISHU (RBC) Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweis, a senior officer of Al-Shabab group in Somalia has promised that war against west will not even after Osama bin Laden is killed.
“We heard the news of the death of Sheikh Osama and his killing it will not end the fight even though many men went on the same way,” Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweis said in a statement issued today on Tuesday.
He described Bin Laden as brave Muslim leader fought against the west and the infidels saying that it is the first time they kill Muslim man.
“The brutal killing is not new one and it is not the first time they kill someone who is Muslim, the infidels previous killed Allah’s prophets. And I do not mean Osama reached a level of prophet-hood but if his death becomes true at that his time came to the end”, he added.
Sheikh Aweis called for Al-Shabab and al-Qaeda fighters in Somalia or elsewhere in the world not to dishearten with Osama Bin Laden’s death noting even if one man dies there would be thousand others to fight.
Yesterday, Somalia president Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and the Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed both hailed the death of al-Qaeda top leader, Bin Laden.
The government warned possible revenge attacks from Al-Shabab, and called tighten the security in the government-controlled areas in the capital, Mogadishu.
