At least two people have been wounded in a car bomb explosion which rocked in the heart of Somali capital Mogadishu on Saturday. Residents said that the explosion was very huge that it could be heard from far distances in the city.
The explosion occurred somewhere very close to the Maka Al Mukarama hotel which houses several government officials including law makers.
According to security services, no government official was hurt in the explosion, but police say that the explosion destroyed some cars parked outside the hotel and caused damages on nearby buildings.
Police and security forces cordoned off the whole area in the aftermath of the explosion, but no arrests have yet been made.
Security officials who reached the scene told journalists that a car with explosives was parked among civilian cars before it went off on Saturday causing the injuries of two people.
No group has yet claimed for the responsibility of Saturday’s car bomb explosion, but most such blasts are always claimed by the Al Shabab militants fighting Somali government and the African Union peacekeepers in the country.
