A 13-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with murder after the death of a 34-year-old woman in South Lanarkshire.
Dawn McKenzie was found seriously injured at a flat in Deveron Crescent in Hamilton on Friday.
She was taken to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride, where she died.
The teenager, who appeared on petition at Hamilton Sheriff Court, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
Ms McKenzie's family said her death had left them "devastated and numb with grief".
They paid tribute to "a loving wife, daughter, sister, niece, aunt and friend" and said she would be "sadly missed by everyone who knew her".
