Somalia: Moderate Islamists say deal with government failed

MOGADISHU (Mareeg)—The chairman of Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a in central Somalia, Moallim Mohamud Sheikh Hassan said Thursday deal with the transitional federal government of Somalia has failed.
Ahlu Sunna Waljama (ASWJ) and the transitional federal government of Somalia signed a power sharing deal in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on February 2010.
He accused the Somali government of siding to a third hand which is destroying the agreement between the government and his group.
“There is no agreement between the transitional federal government and Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a, it failed,” Moallim Mohamud said.
Sources say there were former Somali politicians that were going to benefit by the power sharing deal between the government and ASWJ who wanted to get ministerial posts acting as ASWJ officials and the government was supporting these politicians.
There is no word from the transitional federal government of Somali about the speech of ASWJ chairman yet.
