At least 20 Shia pilgrims 'shot dead on bus in Iraq'

At least 20 Shia pilgrims have been found shot dead in western Iraq, reports quoting Iraqi officials say.

The group was reported to have been travelling on a bus to Syria when they were held up at a checkpoint set up by the gunmen.
Attacks on Shia pilgrims have claimed hundreds of lives in recent months.
Levels of violence in Iraq have fallen since the peak of sectarian violence in 2006-07, but militants still carry out almost daily strikes.
