A Pakistani officer investigating a corruption case against the prime minister was found dead on Friday in what was most likely a suicide, the police said. The body of Kamran Faisal was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his room at a government dormitory in Islamabad, according to a senior police officer, Bani Yamin. Mr. Faisal and another investigating officer of the National Accountability Bureau played a main role in the inquiry involving Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf until they were removed from the investigation weeks ago by Fasih Bokhari, the bureau chairman, who was said to be unhappy with their performance. The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the bureau to arrest Mr. Ashraf and 15 others, but Mr. Bokhari, refused, saying he did not have sufficient evidence.
