Pink Floyd star David Gilmour has been told to pull down a beach hut at his £3m seafront mansion in East Sussex or face prosecution.
Brighton and Hove City Council said the yellow hut the rock star uses to house his bicycles is an eyesore in the Hove conservation area.Mr Gilmour's wife, writer Polly Samson, appealed the decision but lost.
A council spokeswoman said the hut must be gone by 1 October or the authority will issue an enforcement notice.
She added: "Failure to comply with that means either prosecution or the council may remove the hut and charge the householder."
The guitarist's adopted son, Charlie, 21, is serving a 16-month jail term after swinging from a Union flag on the Cenotaph.
He also admitted throwing a bin at the Prince of Wales' car during the student fees protests in London last December
