A first batch of 29 suspects who have been arrested by the Rwandan police will appear shortly in court for in connection with recent grenade attacks in the capital Kigali.
The rush hour bombing killed 10 people and left dozens of others wounded, Rwandan Prosecutor General Martin Ngoga said on Thursday.
Among the suspects are those charged with conspiracy or direct implication in the attacks, according to the same source.
"It has taken time for the police to investigate on this matters, because we were looking for more details to identify all those attack ringleaders," Ngoga told reporters in Kigali without identifying the names of the suspects.
Officials in Kigali suspect the former chief of staff of the Rwanda Defense Forces (RDF), Lt. Gen. Faustin Kayumba Nyamwasa currently seeking asylum in Suuth Africa, to be the brain behind the attacks in recent months.
