Rebel group denies fighters joined to Ethiopian army

JIG-JIGA (Mareeg) – The Somali western rebel group fighting against Ethiopian army in Somali region under the control of Ethiopia has denied the some their troops joined to the Ethiopian army, officials told Shabelle radio on Monday.  
 
Sheik Ibrahim Dere, the consecutive secretary of the council of the western Somali guerillas fighting for independence told Shabelle radio that they believed they could talk and negotiate for nay side of the conflicts and religious ideology with Ethiopia.   
 
The officials said that there had no been fighters joined to the Ethiopian troops adding that both sides signed ceasefire agreement for three months that both the rebel group and Ethiopia agreed.
 
“For the 30th of this month officials of the guerillas and the scholars of the region would meet in the region. Some of them will come from abroad to talk more on the ceasefire agreement between the rival sides,” said Sheik Ibrahim.
 
The statement comes as there had been reports that Somali western guerrilla joined to the Ethiopian army while some ramous indicate that the fighters were surrender to the army.
