KUWAIT, Dec 26 (KUNA) -- Kuwait engages in a great international humanitarian and developmental role to aid victims of natural disasters, Kuwaiti ambassador to Cambodia Dherar Al-Tiwaijeri said on Monday.
After a meeting with the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Board Director Barjas Al-Barjas, Al-Twaijeri told the press that "Kuwait's outstanding role within the international humanitarian arena under the framework of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's initiatives and directions." KRCS is worthy of praise, he said, explaining that this Kuwaiti aid body is considered one of the fastest responding aid Internationaly, in presenting "exceptional" help to countries facing emergencies and disasters, he noted. During the meeting with Al-Barjas, they discussed means of boosting the efforts exerted by KRCS in Cambodia and to strengthen connections with humanitarian bodies in both countries. For his part, Al-Barjas stressed that the KRCS' projects and programs get "strong support" from the Kuwaiti leadership, especially from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait who always pays a closer attention to all philanthropically activities.
He expressed readiness to cooperate with all Arab and International humanitarian bodies and he gave a detailed report on all aid given to Libya, Somalia, Thailand, Turkey, Pakistan and many other countries.
