This comes as reports emerge his one-year marriage to pop star Perry is on thin ice following a series of rows that led to the pair spending Christmas on opposite sides of the globe - Russell in the UK and Katy in Hawaii.
Wearing jeans and a baggy grey cardigan, Russell, 36, hid behind a pair of sunglasses, despite the lack of sun, as he perused shop windows and popped into a few of his favourite stores.

But it seems he may be putting on a brave face as his short marriage to the Teenage Dream singer is thought to be on shaky ground.
The pair, who married in a lavish wedding ceremony in India in October 2010, had planned to spend the festive period together, with Katy, 27, due to fly her family over to the UK to spend it with Russell and his family.
However, a huge row put an end to their plans as a source close to the couple told US Weekly: 'They had a massive fight. She was like, "F*** you. I'm going to do my own thing", with Russell responding with: "Fine, f*** you too."'
The source added: 'They haven't split up just yet, but things are not good. The fighting is getting worse.'
While Katy basked in the Hawaiian sun on Christmas day with close pals, Brand kicked back in a pub in Cornwall with his nearest and dearest.
This isn't the first time speculation over their marriage has arisen.
Katy has previously hit out at reports suggesting they were on the verge of splitting, writing on her Twitter account: 'Just cause we don’t flaunt our relationship doesn’t mean there’s something wrong w/it. Privacy is our luxury.'
And more recently, at the start of December, she slammed rumours claiming she was pregnant as well as those stating her and Russell were getting divorced.
She said: 'First I'm pregnant & then I'm divorced. What am I All My Children?! #ericakane #pshhh #ifihadadollarforeverytime ...'
Neither Katy or Russell have so far commented on the latest marriage rift rumours on either of their Twitter accounts.
