A Somali family that was visited by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a tent city approximately four months ago have named their 2-month old baby boy "Turkiye".
Speaking to the AA, the father of "Turkiye" Abdurrahman Muse has said that they loved Turkey and Prime Minister Erdogan and they were grateful to Turkey for the support extended to Somalia.
"The Somali people have great affection for Turkey. When Prime Minister Erdogan was in Somalia, my wife was eight month pregnant. Due to our love for Turkey, my wife and I decided to name our baby 'Turkiye'. No country supported Somalia as much as Turkey. We are grateful to Turkey," Muse said.
