Gunmen killed commissioner in Puntland

BURSALAH (Mareeg) – Unidentified gunmen have shot and killed a deputy commissioner of Bursalah village in Mudug region in central Somalia, official and witnesses told Shabelle radio on Wednesday.
 
Reports say that the deceased official Abdi Keyre Mire was killed by the armed men as he was from his business centre in the village which is about 45 kilometers to Galka’o town in Mudug region wounding other person.
 
More security forces of Puntland administration had reached at the scene where the action took place though they did not achieve to seize the culprits during their operation in the area.
 
Ali His Abdi, the commissioner of Agaran village in Mudug region told Shabelle radio that the police forces of the region would continue to search those who committed the brutal killing against the deputy commissioner of Bursalah village in Mudug region adding that the fire killed the official had also injured a young man around the area.
 
Bursalah, a village about 45 kilometers to Galka’o, the central town of Mudug region which is under the control of the semi-autonomous region of Puntland in north Somalia and murder comes as there had been insecurity situation in parts of the region recently.
