For Immediate Release
Baladweyne Martyrdom Operation Kills Dozens of Ethiopian Troops
Mogadishu (24/01/20112) – Harakat Al-Shabaab Al Mujahideen’s Martyrdom Brigade has this morning carried out a successful Martyrdom Operation against the Ethiopian invaders in Baladweyne, Hiiraan region.
The Martyrdom Operation took place at 0650 hours and targeted a building known as the Regional Headquarters which housed the Ethiopian army. At the time of the operation, Harakat Al-Shabaab Al Mujahideen’s intelligence sources verified that a close to 200 Ethiopian troops and their commanders were present inside the building compound.
33 Ethiopian soldiers, including 4 senior commanders, are so far confirmed dead by the War Statistics Office (WSO) and up to 72 injured and the number is steadily increasing. 2 army trucks and a car parked in the compound were also completely destroyed.
The Baladweyne Operation is part of the new strategy adopted by the Mujahideen as a bold response to the increasingly hostile enemies that have invaded Somalia, vigorously underlining the fact that the mere withdrawal from a city does not necessarily preclude the Mujahideen from coordinating and carrying out major operations.
Harakat Al-Shabaab Al Mujahideen pledges to continue such blessed operations and shall employ all possible methods in order to repel the coalition of Crusaders from all parts of Somalia.
We ask Allah to accept the deeds of our Martyr and grant him the highest levels of Jannah.
