Publish Date: Jan 27, 2012clip
Rose Namisango Nansikombi and her husband on her wedding day"On the evening of Tuesday January 24, 2012, I authorised the publication of a photograph of a woman, who the editorial team believed at the time to be the mother of the recently revealed Prince Richard Ssemakookiro of Buganda.

"I have every reason to believe that the team exercised sufficient editorial measures in its work. This picture was published in our newspapers and television channels on Wednesday January 25, 2012.It has since been disclosed that the picture is not that of Ssemakookiro’s mother. Clearly, we got it wrong.

"I apologise to our audi-ences across the country for the mistake and regret any inconvenience caused to the woman in the picture. This was an error of judgement for which I take full respon-sibility,” Vision Group’s CEO, Robert Kabushenga, said in a statement yesterday.

"Meanwhile, a woman, who identified herself as Barbara Patience Kirabo, on Thursday called a press conference at which she claimed that it was her photograph New Vision published on Wednesday in relation to Rose Nansikombi, the mother of Kabaka’s baby Prince Richard Ssemakookiro.

But Kirabo, who said she is 20 years old and a mother of one, said she was not Nan-sikombi, the mother of Prince Ssemakookiro. In another development, Nansikombi’s family sources yesterday availed New Vision her photograph that was taken in 1999 when she was a girl. The sources said Nansikombi is also known as Namisango
