Somalia: Islamist group accuses Djibouti President

MOGADISHU (Mareeg)—Hizbul Islam rebel group has accused Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh of of being behind the Somalia problem on Tuesday.

Sheikh Mohamed Moallim, an information official of the group criticised President Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti.


He held a press conference in Mogadishu and called on the people to demonstrate against the presence of the African Union Troops and the Djibouti president.


He said” Ismail Omar Guelleh is part of the Somali problems” and accused of supporting the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia.


Djibouti announced that it would send 500 soldiers of peace keepers in Somalia to be part of the African Union Peacekeepers in the country.


The group led by hardline, cleric Hassan Dahir Aweys, is fighting for to topple the government of President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.
