Driver dies in crash that shut M25 clockwise at Chertsey

A motorist died in a crash on the M25 in Surrey shortly after police attempted to stop the vehicle.
A silver BMW collided with an articulated lorry at 23:55 GMT on Monday near junction 11 for Chertsey, Surrey Police said.
The BMW driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The lorry driver was uninjured.
The M25 was shut clockwise at junctions 10-11 but reopened at 07:00, police said.
The incident has been referred by the force to the police complaints watchdog.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "Surrey Police closed the motorway in the clockwise direction after a silver BMW collided with the back of an articulated lorry.
"Police had attempted to stop the vehicle shortly before the collision."
The driver of the BMW has not yet been formally identified, she added.
