MUGADISHU Somalia ,17,December,2011(Garowe Online)-Speaker of Parliament Sharif Adan Sharif Hassan who spoke to the media stated that he rejected the vote MPs made this past Tuesday to oust him as Speaker of Parliament, Radio Garowe reports.

Sharif Hassan, who arrived in Mogadishu on Saturday, spoke to VOA on Friday saying, “The MPs who do not want the Road Map to succeed are the same MPs that voted to oust me as Speaker.”

He added that the MPs did not regard the impeachment process which involves bringing forth evidence against the Speaker that is if the Speaker of Parliament can be replaced or can be put up for impeachment.

Sharif Hassan rejected the parliament vote as illegal, saying the MPs violated parliamentary bylaws and the spirit of the Kampala Accord, which led to the adoption of the Roadmap process.

The controversial vote to oust Sharif Hassan as Speaker came this past Tuesday when 140 MPs met to vote Sharif Hassan out. The vote caused political in-fighting as Sharif Hassan supporters and those opposing him clashed in Parliament on Wednesday.

The TFG have been heavily dependent on international support this statement from the EU could end the political infighting that has plagued the country.
