Ethiopia fixes price of major commodities

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - The Ethiopian government Friday fixed prices on major commodities in an attempt to end soaring commodity prices and inflationary pressures. The price caps affecting about 17 commodities, including sugar, bread, rice, meat and beer, came at the end of a day-long meeting of senior officials – including Prime Minister Meles Zenawi – and authorities on trade and tax held Thursday with 600 major businesses in Ethiopia.
