M25 police pursuit leaves driver dead

A motorist died in a crash on the M25 in Surrey shortly after police tried to stop the vehicle during a pursuit.
A silver BMW was in a collision with an articulated lorry at 23:55 GMT on Monday near junction 11 for Chertsey, Surrey Police said.
The BMW driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The lorry driver was uninjured.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has decided not to begin an investigation.
The M25 was shut clockwise at junctions 10-11 but reopened at 07:00, police said.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "Surrey Police closed the motorway in the clockwise direction after a silver BMW collided with the back of an articulated lorry.
"Police had attempted to stop the vehicle shortly before the collision."
The driver of the BMW has not been formally identified.
The IPCC deployed an investigator to the scene to conduct an initial assessment.
An IPCC spokeswoman said: "On the basis of the information we have seen, we are confident officers involved observed all necessary policies and procedures.
"As a result, we are content for Surrey Police to complete the investigation into this incident."
