British family shot dead in Costa del Sol

A British family has been found shot dead in a rented Spanish apartment, police have said.
The mother and daughter were found in the bedroom of the property in Mijas, and the husband was found dead on a sofa.
The owner of the property alerted police after visiting the property as he had not heard from the family for a few days, the Guardia Civil said.
They are investigating whether the deaths were murder and suicide.
The bodies have been removed from the building and a cordon has been established by police around the property in Mijas near Fuengirola, Costa del Sol.
"The latest information we have is that the owner of the house had not heard from the family for a few days and had not been paid," the police spokeswoman said.
"He went to the house today and when there was no reply at the door, he went inside. Inside he saw the man dead on the sofa and immediately called the Guardia Civil.
"When officers inspected the house they found the wife and the daughter dead in a bedroom. The initial hypothesis at this early stage of the investigation is that this was a murder-suicide."
Earlier, the UK Foreign Office said it was "urgently" looking into reports about the deaths.
An official with Spain's Interior Ministry said police discovered the bodies of the man, his invalid wife and their disabled daughter, believed to be in her 20s, on Wednesday, Associated Press reported.
He added that the family had lived for a long time in Mijas, which is a popular resort, inland from the Andalusian coast.
