Of late rumours had been doing the rounds that visa norms for certain nationalities have changed.
The UAE Ministry of Interior on Thursday rubbished rumours of changes to UAE's residence laws, and said no amendments have been made.
In an official statement on its Instagram account, the ministry said such rumours doing the rounds on social media were completely baseless.
Of late, rumours had been doing the rounds that the government had modified visa rules for Pakistanis and Bangladeshis, and this resulted in thousands of queries landing in Khaleej Times mailboxes seeking clarification.
The ministry also urged the public not to rely on unofficial statements on social media, and informed that all official policy changes will be announced directly by the government.
The ministry also warned people spreading these rumours, and said such rumourmongers will be prosecuted for cyber crime.
