A Palestinian man from Al Hayek family carying his son next to a crater caused by Israeli military airstrikes in Dear al Balah town, the central Gaza Strip, on 06 March 2011. Israeli jets carried out a series of airstrikes on targets belonging to militants in the Gaza Strip, ruled by Islamic Hamas movement. The intensive airstrikes on Gaza were carried out in response to earlier attacks by homemade projectiles carried out by militants from Gaza on southern Israeli towns. No injuries were reported, medics and witnesses said. EPA/MOHAMMED SABER
