Somali MPs oppose UN envoy campaign

Some of Somali members of the parliament on Sunday opposed a campaign the said Augustine Mahiga, UN’s special representative for Somalia is pushing back.

As wrangle erupted between Somali parliament and international community over parliament’s term extension by three years, United Nations is organizing a reconciliation conference in Nairobi, Kenya. UN invited Somali TFG government, Puntland. Moderate

Mohammed Qanyare Afrah, Somali parliamentarian, the UN organized meeting that is due to take place in Nairobi on April 14 is intended to decimate the sovereignty of Somalia by dividing all Somali parties.

Afrah called for international community to cancel that meeting completely.

For his part, Suleiman Mohammed Ibrahim, the UN organized meeting that will happen in Kenya will not make any sense.

He said that he would propose such meeting to mediate between Somali government and Al shabaab, which US accuses to be Al Qaeda’s proxy in the horn of African nation.
