SOMALIA: Qatar calls the raise of support to Somalia’s security

New York (RBC) Qatar government has expressed its condemnation of all forms of violence and all acts that threaten the stability and security of Somali citizens, or the internationally recognized government and the regional peace keeping forces.
In a speech addressed by Qatar’s ambassador to the UN and Permanent Representative of Qatar state had also expressed regret for the civilian casualties in the Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.
This came in a speech delivered by Ambassador Nasser Abdulaziz Al Nasr Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nation at the substantive discussion of the open meeting which was held by Security Council on the situation in Somalia.
“We take this opportunity to send appreciation for the African Union and the States contributing troops to the AU mission in Somalia, where the security challenge remains the most critical to the Transitional Federal Institutions”, Ambassador Nasser Abdulaziz Al Naser said.
The Qatar government also called for the raise of the level of support package provided to the “AMISOM” which is one of the strongest pillars to ensure the continuity of the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia.
“We must raise our support in-order to skip to the next stage and to be able to build Somalia’s state institutions and achieve a degree of self-reliance and keeping the integrity of the Somali nation” the ambassador added.
He noted that in the last four years, and since the national reconciliation conference in Djibouti, Somalia has witnessed a range of positive developments in the domestic level represented by the Transitional Federal Government which based small blocks from Mogadishu.
Somalia’s Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed who also addresses at the discussion said that Somalia needs equipment and logistic support to tackle two-front war with Al Shabab militants and the pirates. Meanwhile Somali government forces with the aiding of AMISOM troops had been in fierce fighting against Al Shabab rebel groups in the most parts of the country.
