Sussex Police arrest four over Slinfold death crash

Crash scene Four teenagers who were in a car behind the vehicle that crashed were arrested
Four teenage boys have been arrested after a crash in which a car hit a tree leaving two people dead and two others injured.
Sussex Police said the four teenagers arrested were travelling in a car behind the Peugeot that left the road in Slinfold in Horsham on Friday night.
Officers said the Peugeot driver died at the scene and a passenger in the car was taken to hospital but later died.
The four were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
They were travelling behind the Peugeot in an Opel Astra, police said.
Urgent witness plea Sgt Alan Spicer said: "All fatal road traffic collisions are tragic but even more so when it involves young people just starting out in life."
He urged anyone who saw the crash to contact the force as a matter of urgency.
The two people who died have not yet been named.
Police said the Peugeot driver was an 18-year-old from Slinfold and his passenger who died was a 19-year-old.
The other two in the Peugeot were an 18-year-old man from Billingshurst, who suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries, and a 17-year-old girl from West Chiltington, who had minor injuries.
The A264 Five Oaks Road, near Fulfords Hill, where the crash happened at about 20:10 BST, was closed for about nine hours while police dealt with the incident.
