According to opposition sources, during massive attacks by the Syrian army on Monday at least 50 people were killed. Most of them died during heavy bombings on the city of Homs.
"The troops of President Assad acted as if they were immune from any form of international intervention," said a senior member of the opposition Syrian National Council, Catherine al-Talli. The attacks on Homs started early in the morning. Since Friday, over 300 people were killed in Homs, according to opposition sources.
Meanwhile, heavy fighting has been taking place since this morning around the town of Zabadani near the Lebanese border. Reports claim the regime forces were attempting to retake the town, controlled by the Free Syrian Army.
On its part, the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria on Monday accused Russia, China and Iran of being "accomplices of the massacres" committed in the country, providing the regime of Bashar al-Assad "supportive" policy and "weapons".
"We see Russia, China and Iran as directly complicit in the horrible massacres committed against our people, not only by supporting the regime but also by providing weapons and equipment directly to murder our defenseless people", they said in a statement.
