A man in his 20s has killed himself in a hairdressers in Dungannon, County Tyrone.
The man, who was named locally as Patrick Hughes entered the premises on the town's Carland Road at about 16:15 GMT on Friday.
In a statement police said: "We are investigating the circumstances of the incident but are not looking for anyone else in connection to this death."
Fermanagh South Tyrone DUP MLA Maurice Morrow said the town was in shock.
"It is a real, real tragedy," he said.
It is understood the Mr Hughes entered the shop carrying a firearm and the customers left the building.
A short time later a shot was heard. Mr Hughes died at the scene.
