BELEDWEYNE (Mareeg) — Hizbul Islam fighters have reportedly taken over the control of Beledweyne, the regional capital of Hiraan region in central Som

The seizure of the town comes as the Hizbul Islam militias attacked bases of Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a in the town early on Friday and managed to capture the town.

The two warring sides used heavy machineguns and mortars which could be heard in the town and areas around it.

The casualties of the fighting are not known yet since it is too early to know. The two groups fought in the town for several times.

There is no word from the other group of Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a about the fighting and the seizure of the town.
