Somalia:US army troops in Africa not ready to be directly involved


Nairobi (Mareeg.com) American troops stationed in Africa said they wouldn't have a straight interference into chaotic matters in Somalia US central military command in Africa known as AFRICOM has stated it will not directly intervene into Somali matters but be prepared to provide handful assistance in an effort of helping Somali transitional government.

Talking to VOA after a meeting with European security and peace chief, Ramtana lamambara, the US army commanding officer in Africa, General William stressed the assistance of US army in Africa to Somali fragile government was exceedingly restricted.

The commander has stated that US army support to African mission in Somalia and Somalia government isn't remarkable due to US army command in Africa doesn't have an authorization to intrude and provide tangible assistance to either Somali domestic affairs or African force on the ground.

He has, there fore, acknowledged that they have feel sympathy for the traumatic quandaries in Somalia and some countries in Africa .

He restated the continuous enmity, political stalemate and continuity of violence in Somalia are the great menace to the achievement of everlasting peace and prosperity in Somalia .

AFRICOM is a Unified Combatant Command of the United States Department of Defense that is in charge of U.S. military operations and military relations with all African nations except Egypt . This US army command in Africa was established October 1, 2007
