Rapist jailed for attacking girl

Omar will be deported to Somalia at the end of his sentence
A 39-year-old man who raped a 17-year-old girl in Milton Keynes has been jailed for at least seven years.

Omar Omar, of Conniburrow Boulevard, Milton Keynes, attacked the girl at a house in Towan Avenue, Fishermead, on 3 May 2008.

He will be put on the sex offenders register for life and will be deported to Somalia on his release.

Omar was also been banned from having any unsupervised contact with women under the age of 18 in the UK.

He cannot be considered for release until he is no longer a danger to woman, Huntingdon Crown Court heard.

Det Con Paul Summerville said: "I would like to thank the victim in this case and others who have been brave enough to come forward, for having the courage to stand up and bring Omar to justice.

"It has taken a great deal of hard work and time to get this man convicted and I am relieved that he has been stopped from harming anyone else.

"The judge himself described Omar as a significant danger to woman and he won't be let out of prison until the authorities are convinced that he is no longer a danger."
