Djibouti prices rise in December: official data


DJIBOUTI (Reuters) - Consumer prices in Djibouti rose by 0.5 percent in December, compared with a fall of 0.5 percent a month earlier, pushing the annual inflation rate to 2.8 percent, official data showed on Sunday.
The Statistics and Demographic Studies Directorate said food prices in December rose by 0.1 percent against the previous month, while housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel costs rose by 1.7 percent and transport costs climbed by 0.8 percent.
The annual rate of inflation in 2009 came out at 2.2 percent.
