Meles calls on Somali diaspora to advance dev’t in region

Addis Ababa, January 8, 2011 (Addis Ababa) - Prime Minister Meles Zenawi called upon natives of Somali living abroad to engage actively to speed up the ongoing development and democratization process in the state.

The premier held discussion with Somali native investors living in North America and Europe here on Saturday.
Meles noted that Ethiopian disaspora would have paramount importance to further enhanced the over all development activities in the state.
He said government is moving forward to change livelihoods of the people.
The premier said Somali diaspora will have significant role to ensure development in emerging states of the country.
Somali diaspora community representative Abdiwhab Yusuf on his part said the Somali natives delegate witnessed that the prevailing peace enabled to ensure development.
He said members of the delegate came to assess the reality and contribute their share in the development efforts in the state.
Members of the community expressed their satisfaction over the prevailing peace and development activities in the state.Read More
