Somalia’s finance minister: No corruption in national properties

Reports from local media suggest some Somali officials use the national assets in a corrupt manner, but the country's finance minister said such charges are baseless and false.
In a press conference held in Mogadishu, the minister of finance of Somalia’s transitional federal government on Wednesday said here is no corruption in all new governmental institutions.
Hussein Abdi Halane said he always hears reports from local media suggesting some Somali officials use the national assets in a corrupt manner, spelling out that all media charges are baseless and false.
He said the government has a general treasurer who has the responsibility of keeping national properties, noting that government has not been received any complaints of impropriety.Read More
