Iran, China to build world's tallest dam

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iran and China signed a deal on Monday to build the world's tallest double-curvature dam.
The deal worths 2 billion dollar was signed in presence of Iranian Energy Minister Majid Namjou and Chinese ambassador to Iran.
Also the deputy managing director of Chinese firm Sinohydro Corporation was also present in the meeting.
The Chinese company stands 31st among 225 dam-building companies of the world and is now constructing the world's biggest dam in China.
The dam to be built in Tehran and named "Bakhtiari" takes 10 years to be built, based on the deal.
The dam which is 315 meter tall is to be constructed in western Lorestan Province, near the border of Khouzestan.
It is able to save 1500 mw energy annually.
