Mogadishu (Sunatimes) A mortar that hit a building in Somali University in the neighborhood of Bar Ubah in Mogadishu city killed a university lecturer and wounded two others.
One of the students who was in the compound at that time, Abdikadir Hassan told Bar-kulan that the two people who were injured by the mortar were the guards of the compound.
The mortar has reportedly destroyed a section of lecture halls of the university buildings.
However, the head quarters of the university was recently relocated to the Elasha Biyaha out skirts of the city following the heavy shelling that disrupted learning and other daily activities in the institution.
Elasha Biyaha is a new settlement area located at the periphery of Mogadishu city where thousands of families who were displaced by the ongoing violence have established new settlements.
