Mogadishu (RBC) At a big peaceful demonstration in Somalia capital, Mogadishu the civil society groups called the UN secretary general to fire his special envoy to Somalia Augustine Mahiga.
The call is result for growing public anger about the UN envoy’s proposed meeting which is due to take place in the Kenyan capital April 12. Many Somalis are suspicious the UN envoy is dismantling the transitional federal institutions in Somalia.
Sheikh Ahmed Dhi’isow, head of Somalia religious council urged the UN secretary general to sack his special envoy for his meddling the country’s legal system. He said the envoy habituated conspiracy acts within the nation.
“The Somali people are against the so-called envoy. We call the secretary general of United Nations to fire him. We don now recognize him”, said Sheikh Dhi’isow, one of Somalia’s best known religious men and former UIC leader.Continued
