MOGADISHU (RBC) The body of young deceased Somali baby was found on Lido coast of Shangani district in the Somalia capital of Mogadishu, residents told RBC Radio on Tuesday.
Ibrahim Muktar, Shangani district commissioner said the corpse of the young baby was seen by locals after it was washed up on the shore from the sea during in the night.
“The police went to the scene and took the body, we are going to burry him since there is no one claims”, Mr. Muktar added.
The age of the deceased baby was estimated only 30 days (1 month) and had not showed any evidence of torture but sad locals believe the baby was thrown into the sea alive.
Since the collapse of late Somalia government unknown bodies found in alleyways had been common but such act could be related to unmarried women giving birth and later throw their new born babies after facing risk life of poverty and disgrace in the society.
