SOMALIA: President Sharif flies to Ethiopia, Tanzania trip

Mogadishu (RBC) Somali president Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and several government ministers have flown to Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa today.
Somalia government spokesman Eng. Abdurrahman Omar Yarisow told the reporters that the president went on official visit to the Ethiopian capital where he will meet with Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi.
Eng. Yarisow said the president will hold discussions about current issues in the region including the security and bilateral relational between the two states.
President Sheikh Sharif and his delegate will also visit Tanzania after Ethiopia, presidential sources also told RBC Radio.
Among the president’s delegate were; defense minister Abduhakim Hagi Mahamud Fiqi, finance minister Hussein Abdi Halane, state minister for presidential office Abdulkadir Mo’alim Nur and head of the protocol of presidential palace.
The visit emerged hours after the conclusion of UN-backed meeting on Somalia which was held in Nairobi.
Somalia government rejected that meeting which sources claim the neighbouring countries were providing support.
