Somalia Prime Minister flies to Kenya for consultation with Kenyan officials

Somalia Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed travells to Kenya
Mogadishu (RBC) Somalia Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed has today left to Kenyan capital for consultation meeting with his Kenyan counterpart.
The prime minister’s visit to Kenyan comes after invitation from his Kenyan counterpart Raila Odinga.
Officials from the office of Somalia prime minister told RBC Radio that the prime minister will have one day meeting with Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
It is supposed that the two premiers will have close discussion about Somalia government’s position against the upcoming UN sponsored meeting on the country’s future that is due to take place in Nairobi April 12.
UN special envoy to Somalia, Augustine Mahiga has urged recently all Somalia leaders to gather in Kenya for consultation meeting but the transitional government in the country rejected the call.
Both Kenya and Somalia are members in the Inter-governmental Authority for Development IGAD while also Kenya has nowadays playing active role in organizations political matters concerning the region.
It is unclear whether Kenya will attempt to persuade Somalia’s transitional federal government to participate the UN meeting.
