Kakamega man murders brother for wearing his clothes

– A man in Kakamega is in police custody for killing his younger brother under mysterious circumstances
– Andrew Muganda stabbed his younger brother Wycliffe Shitanda after realising he had worn his clothes without permission
– The incident happened days after another relative to the family died, yet to be buried
The family of two brothers in Malava, Kakamega is devastated and shocked following the bizarre incident.
According to witnesses, 26-year-old Andrew Muganda reportedly stabbed his brother Wycliffe Shitanda killing him after he found him wearing his pair of trousers and a cap.
It is said the 23-year-old Wycliffe answered his older brother rudely when he was asked to explain why he wore his clothes without prior permission.
Their mother Violet Lagu, said it is at this point that a fight broke out between the two leading to the fatal incident.
“The victim took a pair of trousers and a cap belonging to the brother and left home running towards the main road. When his brother found him, he stabbed him for taking his clothes without permission'” said Lagu quoted by Nairobian.
The family is confused on the burial arrangements since they were preparing to bury the brothers’ grandmother.
“We are very shocked,wondering why he killed his sibling just because of clothes while we are in mourning,”said Lagu.
The events have left residents and family in shock, the family is now appealing for assistance in the burial arrangements of the deceased.
Reports indicate the two brothers were drunk during the incident.
Area chief Alfred Muhatia called for peace and calm among area residents urging them to desist from violent acts.
He also asked families to seek counselling or report issues to the police saying this is the fourth murder incident of such nature being reported in the area.
The suspect is in police custody and will be arraigned in court according to Western Regional Commander Moses Ombati.
