SOMALIA: Al Shabab amputates three teenagers in Jowhar

Mogadishu (RBC) The Somalia rebel group of al Shabab has amputated today three young teenagers in Jowhar district, some 90 KM north of Somalia capital of Mogadishu.
Eye witnesses in Jowhar told RBC Radio that three youth named Abdulahi Bakat Farah 31, Hassan Siyad Mohamed 22 and Hassan Mo’amin Farey 18, were each cut off a hand and a leg after convicting of robbery in Mahaday district, another Middle Shabelle town.
They were arrested before days by Al Shabab fighters and brought to Jowhar district where Al Shabab today amputated them.
Al Shabab judge Sheikh Hassan Barow said the three men recognized their offence and ordered to execute the punishment.
Local residents were called to watch while the three teenagers were their hands and legs cut off by masked men with long knives.
Al Shabab officer who then spoke to the people said they will not refrain executing as directed by Islamic rule accusing that anti Islam individuals criticize such amputation.
Al Shabab which is al-Qaeda allied group is the biggest organization confronting Somalia transitional federal government. The group already carried out public execution, amputations and flogging in southern parts of Somalia.
