Pedestrian killed in Nottinghamshire M1 crash


M1 junction The M1 was closed to motorists between junctions 25 and 26
A man has died after being struck by a van on the M1 in Nottinghamshire.
The accident, involving a Ford Iveco, happened between junctions 25 and 26, after reports of a man walking on the hard shoulder at about 07:30 GMT.
The man was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham where he later died from his injuries.
The northbound carriageway of the M1 between the A52 and A610 was closed for several hours.
A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Police said calls from motorists minutes before the collision reported a man walking along the hard shoulder.
The 56-year-old van driver was unhurt in the collision.
